Hello, it's been a while since my last post.  Here is a picture of me on June 28, 2011 - my 50th birthday. Great time and can't believe I've hit the big 50!  I'm also about 11lbs lighter than this picture.

I'm loving Weight Watchers. Mom and I are rocking it and working hard to stay on track. Last week I had a fun vacation and was careful but didn't miss out on treats. Had about 4 cokes and some movie popcorn as I attemped to see Magic Mike 3 times - 3rd time lucky!

On July 5th my girls - Jen & Sherrie and I hit Sandbanks beach for the day. It was so perfect for weather, company and great times. We swam, read, yapped and then hit a patio in Picton for a delicious dinner. I treated myself to 1/3 rack of ribs, baked potato with butter and a small ceasar salad oh, and a coke. On July 6th my weigh-in was a pleasant surprise, no weight gain, I stayed the same.

I'm back on track this week and really working out. Walking during lunch, climbing stairs 2-3 times each day, walking quite fast after work and using the Ultra Vibe machine for 10 minutes each day.

Tonight at my WW meeting, my dear friend Sherrie Patterson decided to follow my advise from our talk at the Saturday Crop and she ended up joining Progress Fitness on a $99 special for the summer!  So, after our meeting I drove over and signed up for the same special and can now attend the gym and pool until September 11, 2012!  I am so pumped!  I also bought a WW pedometer to measure my points and distance.

I am really loving this program and feel "hooked" on working out again. I also notice that my blood sugar is going back to normal and a few blood pressure tests showed 106 / 64 with a resting heart rate of 73! Wow!!! It was 140 / 102 and a heart rate of 94 at one time.  I will go for blood work in late August and meet with my doctor to have my blood pressure checked along with the A1C1 test results.

I feel so good, I am going to work at continuing this progress!

Off to a great start...

Here I am a full fledge Weight Watcher's Member and have been following the program for five days. Tonight, after work, I weighed in and discovered I am 2+ pounds ligher! I'm very happy since I have eaten at East Side Mario's, Swiss Chalet and Jiffy Grill at social events. I was careful not to finish the meals but thoroughly enjoyed everything this week except one dinner. We made veggie pizza on pita bread with little cheese. It was dreadful, the pita became too cruchy and the pizza sauce was too strong. Back to the Mamma Molina's pizza kits.

I am so pleased with my exercising this week. Almost everyday since last Saturday, I've walked at night for 15 - 20 minutes and I'm starting to feel less pain and discomfort in my hip flexers. I'm even walking faster. I've also gone out on walks most days at work and climbing the stairs 2 - 3 times since Monday. I can feel results. Tonight around 8:30 pm I walked pretty fast, sweated and felt great. After, I treated myself to a nice shower and have settled here to enter this post.

My goals for next week will be entered on Sunday.

Good day, what a beautful, sunny warm Victoria Day! (Yep I'm Canadian and we talk about the weather- LOL)

What is new for me?  First of all, this is my first real blog and the start of recording my Wellness Journey.  In June, I'm about to embark on Yoga and Zumba water classes. I have also cracked open the Wii Fit Plus. My goodness that puppy breaks a sweat. Just trying to balance and stay "within the circle" can be tough! I'm sad to confess that I have had that game sitting (in the package) for over 1 1/2 years. I met a sweet friend who lost over 40lbs using the FitPlus game so I'm up to give it a try when it is too hot outside.

Starting this week (May 21, 2012) I will be going to Lemoine's Point to walk near the water. I have the iPod charged and ready to go when I get home from work each day. On the days that it is raining, I will use the Wii FitPlus / go swimming.

Thanks to my dear friend Jen, who truely is a good friend, has been encouraging to get me to join Weight Watchers (WW). In my heart it feels right and because I can do the fitness, WW will help me with the food and sugar addition. She invited me to a meeting this past Saturday morning and it felt right. I plan to sign up the first of June.

So, here goes, I am pumped, encouraged, supported and I believe in myself to do the work! :O)
